IFFC

International

Film Festival

Cologne

Rules

The submitted film must have been produced within the last 364 Days before the IFFC begins.

If a film is nominated it will be shown at the IFFC. Every film will need to provide a digital copy of the film wether it was shot digitally or not.

About the feature film screenings:

We need to let you know that due to limited capacities we`re only able to fully screen the nominated films of the following categories: "Best Short Film", "Best Acting (ShortFilm or 10 min. sequence from a feature film)","Best Music Video","Best Experimental Film","Best Documentary" and the Pilot of each nominated "Best Mini Web Series".

The nominated films of the categories "Best Feature Film","Best Acting/Feature Film" and "Best Cinematography" (only if your submitted project is a feature film and no short film) will need to provide a selected sequence from the nominated film. It should be 10 minutes long and represent the quality of the whole project with focus on the categories subject. For example; If your film is nominated for "Best Acting/Feature Film" you should give us a 10 min sequence which shows the quality of the acting.

If you are not sure which part you should take we can help you.

The last option would be to provide us with a Trailer, but we welcome 10 min sequences.

We do not want to run over a project but our capacities do not allow 15 times a feature film screening. So please choose a sequence that lives up to the submitted film.

All feature films will be watched full time for consideration, the 10 min sequence is only for the festival.

If your film wins the category "Best Feature Film" it will be shown in full length after the award ceremony together with the "Best Short Film".

Legal Note:

All rights to the image, sound etc. must be obtained from the submitter. The festival is not liable for any violations of copyright and personal rights, as well as marketing rights or trademarks.

If one of the violations is committed, the subcontractor is liable for any damaging loss.

About hate and violence:

Films that express hatred towards ethnic groups are automatically disqualified. It should be noted that the representation of this hatred in itself does not lead to disqualification, but the desired meaning behind it. Accordingly, if a movie poses or trumps hatred against ethnic groups, it will be disqualified.

The same applies to glorifying violence. If violence is glorified or positively presented, the film will be disqualified.

So violence itself does not disqualify, but glorifying it does.
